About the Authors

Michelle Knight, Amanda Berry, and Gina DeJesus are the three women who were held captive in a Cleveland home for over a decade. They are now advocates for victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse.

Knight is the author of the memoir Finding Me: A Decade of Darkness, a Life Reclaimed. Berry is the author of the memoir Hope: A Memoir of Survival in Cleveland. DeJesus has not yet written a memoir, but she has spoken out about her experiences in interviews and public appearances.

The three women have received numerous awards for their advocacy work. In 2015, they were named Time magazine's Persons of the Year. They have also received the Congressional Gold Medal and the National Civil Rights Museum's Freedom Award.
