The Birth of a Nation

Jawaharlal Nehru was born into a wealthy and influential family in Allahabad, India, on November 14, 1889. From a young age, he displayed an exceptional intellect and a passion for social justice.

Nehru's involvement in the Indian independence movement began in 1919 when he joined the Indian National Congress. He quickly rose through the ranks and became one of Mahatma Gandhi's closest advisors. Panchsheel and the Kashmir Dispute

Nehru's commitment to non-violence and peaceful coexistence extended to his foreign policy. He formulated the Panchsheel principles, which emphasized respect for territorial integrity, non-aggression, and non-interference in internal affairs.

However, Nehru's relationship with Pakistan was strained due to the unresolved Kashmir dispute. Pakistan claimed the Muslim-majority state of Kashmir, while India maintained its own territorial claims.

Nehru's attempts to resolve the Kashmir conflict through diplomacy proved unsuccessful. The dispute remains a source of tension between India and Pakistan to this day.

The Sino-Indian War
